The Schilling School fencing program
Middle and Upper school students are able to select fencing as an elective period on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our fencing instructors work with the students during the course of the normal school day. Middle and Upper school students are able to participate in this program from beginners to students with fencing experience.
Students are able to compete with other local schools in area fencing tournaments. The tournaments are additional opportunities after-school. The Southern Ohio High School Fencing Association (SOHFA) held an Individual Fencing Tournament in February 2018. Schilling fencers took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the Sabre division and 3rd place in the Foil division. The Schilling School for Gifted Children remains a powerhouse in fencing.
